We congratulate the 22 winners in our tenth annual contest recognizing the most innovative new safety products.

2017 NPOY Contest Winners Honored

We congratulate the 23 winners in our ninth annual contest recognizing the most innovative new safety products.

Nineteen companies, including multiple-winner Honeywell, won top honors in Occupational Health & Safety's 2017 New Product of the Year contest. Most of the winners were recognized with awards during the 2017 National Safety Congress & Expo, which took place in Indianapolis during Sept. 25-27.

This year's contest attracted entries in 21 award categories, with an independent panel of judges choosing the winners.

This year was our ninth annual New Product of the Year contest, and the judges' scores in several categories—especially electrical safety, foot protection, fall protection/prevention, hand protection, and respiratory protection—were the closest in any of the contests so far. There were ties in two other categories, industrial hygiene and online training. What a great showing from all of the entrants!

It is a testament to the manufacturers in this industry who are constantly working to develop more comfortable, more protective, more robust new products for their customers as they compete in this fast-growing global market. Informing our readers and online audience about the best new products available to solve their safety and health challenges has always been at the heart of Occupational Health & Safety's mission from 1932 up to today, and this contest is an essential extension of its outreach to the industry.

We congratulate all of our 2017 contest winners and extend my thanks to every company that entered. We hope all of them will participate again in next year's contest.

The 2017 contest's judges were Linda J. Sherrard, CSP, MS, Safety Consultant II for the NCDPS Central Prison Healthcare Complex (Raleigh, NC); Greg Zigulis, CIH, CSP, president of Sixth Sense Safety Solutions (Rogers City, MI); and Chuck Paulausky, CHMM, president of CP Safety & Environmental, LLC (Chandler, AZ).
